What do you prefer--a dense, plush feel or a crisp, hollow feel?

Many paddles today have a crisp, hollow feel where the ball comes right off the paddle face with little dwell time. Many find this to be helpful in aggressive hand battles at the kitchen. Other paddles have a softer feel where it feels as if the paddle grabs the ball, which may help shape the shots and increase spin. What do you like?
